Howard Tang joined the Housing Authority City of Yuma as its Deputy Director in September 2008. Prior to joining HACY, Howard worked in property management within the affordable housing industry for approximately nine years, and has gained experience with and been trained by some of the most reputable property management companies in the Northeast. As well, Howard has managed some very large and challenging properties in various communities throughout Greater Boston. He recently supervised approximately thirty employees, managed ten properties, more than 820 units, and several thousand square feet of commercial space. The properties under his supervision contained affordable housing units as defined under the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, Section 8 and other HUD-funded programs. Additionally, Howard has several years experience in managing properties owned by the Boston Housing and Framingham Housing Authorities.
Howard holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Boston College, obtained the Accredited Residential Management designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), and is trained and certified in a variety of affordable housing programs offered through the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) and the National Center for Housing Management (NCHM). Howard is fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese.
Howard enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and is an avid fan of football and baseball sporting events; he also enjoys walking, swimming, and fishing.
